Business Records Management is the first and only shredding company in the Erie area, and the only shredding company in the Johnstown area, to be AAA-Certified.  Both locations are certified for plant-based operations, while Johnstown is also certified for mobile operations.

The AAA-Certification represents the highest standards accepted by the industry.  The NAID Certification Program establishes principles for a secure destruction process, including such areas as operational security, employee hiring and screening, the destruction process, responsible disposal and insurance.

The NAID AAA-Certification is the only real security assurance in the document destruction industry.

Certification vs. Ordinary Membership

There are significant differences between Membership and Certification.  Organizations that are members are simply subscribing to a professional organization.  They have access to certain publications and security guidelines, but nothing more.

Organizations that choose to become certified have committed significant resources to ensure the security of the information that they handle on their clients' behalf.  NAID enforces the highest standards of ethics for document destruction companies and ensures that all procedures meet strict criteria before certification is granted.

The certification process is extensive, and requires all employees to undergo background investigations and receive comprehensive security training.  Operational procedures and physical facilities must incorporate many security safeguards.  An initial third-party operational audit must be performed, as well as ongoing audits to ensure compliance with all security guidelines and procedures.

Organizations that are merely members are not subject to such requirements.
