Business Records Management (BRM) has been appointed the records repository of over 100,000 radiology films for MAIN Medical, a medical imaging and radiology company which as ceased operations. Over 100,000 radiology films are in the process of being collected and indexed for storage. Eventually these films will be destroyed based on a five-year retention period for each type of film with a maximum retention date of May 27, 2010. Destruction of films that have been identified as being currently eligible for destruction will begin January 1, 2006.
Requesting Films
Patients in need of radiology films can request their individual films by completing a Release of Information form. The Release of Information form may be downloaded via this website, or obtained by calling our automated hotline at (412) 249-1241. Once the form is completed, it must be mailed, along with payment to:

Payment Information
BRM will charge a flat fee of $19.00 for the search and retrieval (which is non-refundable) and $8.50 for certified postage. The total cost for certified mailing is $27.50 including postage. The total cost for pick-up of films is $19.00.
Money orders, cashiers checks, personal checks, Visa and MasterCard will be accepted as payment. Credit card payments will be accepted through this site.
Availability of Released Films
Once indexing of the films is complete, releases will begin to be processed for each respective facility. Please check this website weekly or call our hotline at (412) 249-1241 for facility indexing completion status. At the completion of facility indexing, requests will be available for pick-up seven (7) days after the request has been received at BRM’s North side location: 923 Bidwell Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15233.
All films will be available for release after September 30, 2005. All requests made after September 30, 2005 will be distributed within seven (7) business days.
